The ICJ conducts regular SEMINARS and DEBATES for the students who take total control of the session to freely express their views on a host of issues.
Seminars help to enhance the capabilities of the students and also fine-tune their skills as they provide the right platform to each and every student to focus on a selected issue with different perspectives.
It is mandatory for all the students to take part in seminars, exchange their views powerfully and come to know more about certain subjects which they are otherwise not familiar with.
The topics for seminars are selected by the students themselves who also bear in mind that the issues they deal with have strong affinity with the society.
Out of the various topics thus selected by the students, one particular subject is okayed by the Director who also fixes the date and time for conducting the seminar. The students then get into the act of collecting necessary data on the topic to ensure that the proceedings of the one-hour seminar remain lively.
Debates are held in both English and Malayalam at regular intervals. The main purpose of conducting debates is to help students to improve their oratorical skills, particularly in English.
The ICJ will decide the topic for such debates and the students join in the deliberations quite effectively so that the session brings the best out of them.
Group discussions are also held from time to time offering opportunities to the students to do a collective talk on a particular issue. It also helps them to share opinions besides countering each other in a healthy manner.
